In January 1998, after acquiring the assets of the former Oxypar, Petrom – Petrochemicals Mogi das Cruzes began its activities, already occupying the market as the largest manufacturer of Phthalic Anhydride in Latin America, a position still maintained today.
At that time as a new company, Petrom had an annual production capacity of 50,000 tons of Phthalic Anhydride, 65,000 tons of plasticizers and 2,000 tons of Fumaric Acid.
